TON, in collaboration with DWF Labs and AWS, is pleased to present a new DeFi and Data Analytics Hackathon. Participants will be coding, designing, networking, and presenting their ideas within a vibrant community of Web3 builders. Additionally, all participants will have access to virtual workshops led by experienced mentors. The Hackathon will commence on May 27 and culminate in an offline final held in Singapore on September 11-12, 2023.

How long is the hackathon?Registration and the build phase for the event will begin on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Registration closes and submissions are due on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 23:59:59 GMT+4. After the build phase closes, all submitted projects will be evaluated from July 27 until August 10, 2023. The list of finalists will be revealed on Friday, August 11, 2023. The finalists will then have time to prepare their offline showcase from August 11 to September 10, 2023. The offline showcase will take place on September 11-12, 2023, in Singapore at the AWS Headquarters, just before TOKEN2049.

When is the application deadline? When does the build phase start?Applications must be submitted by July 27 23:59:59 GMT+4. It is highly recommended that you apply as early as possible so that you have more time to prepare your project.

How can I apply for the hackathon? How big can teams be?To apply for the hackathon, each team needs to go through the registration process and receive approval to participate. Each team can consist of 3 to 5 people, and we encourage you to team up with others and make new friends during the event. Team captains can submit an application on behalf of the entire team, but it is important to include the names of each team member in the application form. To register, simply click on the 'Register' button, and you will be redirected to a Telegram bot to complete the process.

What is the judging criteria?There are two judging rounds for the event. The first round is to shortlist finalists, and the criteria for this round is as follows, scored on a scale of 1-5: Potential impact: The extent to which the solution utilizes the TON platform. Technical accomplishment: The cleanliness and technical interest of the code. ‘Wow’ factor: The qualities and features make your project stand out from the rest. Business idea: The potential for growth and business value of the project. For the final round at the offline showcase, the judging criteria are slightly different but still scored on a scale of 1-5: Pitching: How effectively ideas are presented and how well questions are answered. Quality of the idea: The originality and creativity of the idea. ‘Wow’ factor: The qualities and features make your project stand out from the rest. Problem solving: The complexity of the problem being addressed. Business idea: The potential for growth and business value of the project. Additionally, it is mandatory for every project to utilize open-source code, which can be made accessible after the build phase closes and the evaluation period begins. Your repositories may be closed throughout the development phase of a project. But at the time of evaluating projects, you need to provide access to the code to technical judges in GitHub (Please find the list of accounts in FAQ "What is the Submission Process?".)
